The Wheel of Life

Welcome to the beginning of your coaching journey! I'm excited to support you in achieving your goals and creating positive changes in your life. To start, we'll begin with a powerful tool called the Wheel of Life exercise. This exercise will help you assess and visualize the different areas of your life, providing a holistic view of your current situation.

First, I'd like you to imagine a wheel, divided into several segments, each representing a specific area of your life. I will list some common areas, but feel free to add or modify them to reflect your personal priorities and interests. Here are some examples:

  1. Career/Profession

  2. Finances

  3. Health/Well-being

  4. Relationships (Family, Friends, Romantic)

  5. Personal Development/Growth

  6. Recreation/Fun

  7. Spirituality

  8. Environment/Physical surroundings

  9. Emotional Well-being

  10. Contribution to Society/Community

Take a few moments to print out or draw the wheel, and write the different areas of your life in each segment. Make sure to leave enough space in each segment for further exploration.

Once you have the Wheel of Life in front of you, I want you to rate your level of satisfaction or fulfillment in each area. Use a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being extremely dissatisfied and 10 being completely fulfilled. Mark the corresponding number on each segment of the wheel. For example, if you feel your career satisfaction is at 8, mark it near the edge of the "Career/Profession" segment.

As you fill in the numbers, take your time to reflect on each area. Consider what's working well and what areas need improvement. Be honest with yourself, as this exercise is meant to provide a starting point for our coaching journey.

Once you've finished rating each area, step back and look at your Wheel of Life. Notice the balance or imbalance between the segments. Reflect on how satisfied you feel overall and if there are any surprises or insights gained from this exercise.

Remember, this is just a snapshot of your current situation. The purpose of the Wheel of Life exercise is to create awareness and identify areas where you'd like to focus your coaching efforts. It serves as a valuable tool for goal setting and creating a roadmap for your future.

During our coaching sessions, we'll explore each segment of the wheel in more detail, uncovering your strengths, values, and aspirations. Together, we'll develop strategies to enhance the areas that need improvement and celebrate your successes along the way.
